We are committed to making your experience as smooth as it is memorable. Here is some practical information to help you prepare for your ride.
Minimum age
Our rides are accessible from age 14 and up, to ensure the comfort and safety of all participants.
Required level
Our horses are gentle, well-trained, and suited to all experience levels. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced rider, Susie will guide you with care so everyone can fully enjoy the ride.
In the case of a mixed-level group, the ride will naturally adapt to the least experienced rider, to ensure both safety and enjoyment for all.
Booking lead time
To make the most of your horseback ride in Fontainebleau, we recommend booking at least 15 days in advance (for a VIP horseback ride on the weekend between April and October, book one month in advance). This allows us to offer you a personalized organization and prepare your ride in the best conditions.
Available days
Our VIP rides are available every day of the week, including weekends, except Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Feel free to let us know your preferred date when submitting your booking request.
Departure location
Rides start from our partner horse riding center, located 10 km from Fontainebleau and less than 200 meters from the forest itself — an ideal setting for your adventure. The exact address will be provided upon booking confirmation.
Weather conditions
The Forest of Fontainebleau reveals its beauty in every season. In case of extreme weather conditions (heavy rain, storms), we will arrange together for a rescheduling or adjustment of your ride.
Important information for your VIP horseback ride
- Group size: 2 to 6 riders per private ride
- Recommended minimum height for children (over 14): 1.30 m
- Maximum rider weight: 95 kg, for the comfort of the horses
- Rider level:
– Never ridden or beginner (occasional rides): mainly walking pace, with some trotting if comfortable
– Confident at all three gaits or experienced riders (~3 years of regular riding): possibility of faster paces, depending on conditions and safety - Recommended attire: long pants (no shorts), closed-toe shoes. Riding helmets are provided.
